Biscuits
Simple yet satisfying.
Ingredients
- Plant milk: 1 c
- Apple cider vinegar: 1 tbsp
- All-purpose flour: 2 ¼ c
- Baking powder: 2 tbsp
- Granulated sugar: 2 tsp
- Salt: 1 tsp
- Neutral oil: ½ c
Cookware
- Large bowl
- 2" round cookie cutter (or narrow mouthed glass)
Method
Preheat the oven to 425 ºF.
Combine the plant milk and apple cider vinegar to make a buttermilk.

Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt in a large bowl.

Combine the buttermilk mixture and neutral oil.
- neutral oil: ½ cup
Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients and combine. The dough should be tacky yet workable. Use extra flour if it's too tacky.
Smoosh the dough out on a table until it's about 1 " thick. You can use a rolling pin if you'd like.
Use a 2" round cookie cutter (or narrow mouthed glass) to cut the biscuits. Alternatively, just cut into squares. If you do circles, after doing your first pass, combine the scraps and re-roll to get extras.
Place on a lined baking sheet so they're just touching each other.
Use your finger to make a little dimple in the middle so that they'll be flat after they rise.
