Preheat the oven to 400 ºF.

Mix 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup yellow corn meal, 2/3 cup white sugar, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tbsp baking powder together in a large bowl.

Pour 1 1/4 cup non-dairy milk and 1/3 cup neutral oil into the same bowl and stir to combine.

Pour the mix into a 8x8" square pan or a 9" round cake pan.

Cook for 20-25 minutes. Cornbread is done when a toothpick comes out clean and the edges are beginning to brown.
